Breathing Approach
Ayla Stern is a certified Oxygen Advantage Functional Breathing Instructor. This science-backed method focuses on light, slow and deep breathing to address breathing patterns from a bio-chemical, bio-mechanical, and psycho-physiological dimension. She will meet you where you are at and help you develop new skills to use breathing to enhance your well-being. She can help you use breathing to optimize functional movement and strength training, improve sleep quality, reduce symptoms of anxiety, headaches, irritable bowel, PMS, and asthma, as well as increase overall mindfulness and nervous system balance.
Background and Emphasis
Ayla has trained in many different athletic pursuits, primarily soccer, cycling and martial arts. As she cultivated her own breathing practice she became more aware of it’s powerful impact on physical movement and, perhaps even more profoundly, on emotional well being. After many years of chronic stress and over-training, breathing offered a simple, tangible tool to calm the nervous system and bring about a sense of peace and renewed energy. She is eager to share these tools with others. Professionally she has taught in traditional and experiential education for 15 years and skillfully works with people of all ages and backgrounds to meet their individual goals.
